The Deficient Reader

The view is great, but the gargoyle is bored.

Can perfectly decent writing be eye-wateringly boring? May clear, concise writing deftly numb the mind with a few words? Are deficient readers wholly to blamed in such situations? How ever does one achieve the nirvana of there not being “a sprig of grass that shoots uninteresting“?
